Rowan Court
After HAUS took over the management of this purpose-built early 1990s block, leaseholders requested external redecoration works to improve the building’s external appearance.
Rowan Court had not seen any refurbishment work since its original construction and there was also a need to replace woodwork in places, as well as to redecorate.
With multiple buildings and eight directors involved, it was a potentially complex project that would require good communications and efficient organisation.

Undertook a huge and well-overdue external refurbishment project (last completed in the 90s) and took over the administration of a complex multi-schedule budget.
Our Process
In a process that began in October 2018, HAUS drew up a specification of works and went out to tender with four of our preferred suppliers and a supplier nominated by directors. We awarded the contract to the nominated supplier, and work began in late 2019.
During the works, a number of issues arose beyond the original specification. Once contractors had access to the roof, it became clear that some skylights also needed repair and that the roof surface required jet-washing to remove accumulations of moss.
The works process also revealed structural cracks in the building fabric. For all of these extra issues, we were able to obtain quotes and have them reviewed and approved by directors so they were solved efficiently and promptly.
As contract administrator and project manager, HAUS managed a constant flow of communication with all the Rowan Court directors, by phone and email as well as site visits every two weeks while the works were in process. We also supplied additional financial information throughout the project that had been requested by one of the directors.
Work was completed on time and on budget, by early 2020, with all funds collected without issues.
